Marshall’s expertise targets the intersection between inefficient niche markets and more institutional capital markets. Prior to Institutional Life, he co-founded and was CEO of Connect-Ed, a K-12 school outreach communications platform acquired by Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB). He also identified and structured among the first large-scale global investment bank FDI’s in India, a Four Seasons Hotel and mixed-use project in Bangalore. Marshall holds a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD/MBA from Columbia University.

M. Joel Prather, Partner

Legal and Regulatory Compliance lawyer with 21 years of life settlement experience

Joel specializes in consolidating legal operations and business support functions. Prior to Institutional Life, he was Of Counsel in the nationally-recognized Insurance Capital Markets Group of Locke Lord and was formerly General Counsel of Maple Life Financial, a leading life settlement provider. Joel was also a former senior attorney with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. Joel holds a B.S. degree from Florida State University and a JD from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

Matthew Malkus, Partner

Actuary with 10 years of life settlement experience, investment analytics

Matt is an expert in the field of advanced age actuarial science and life insurance as well as related systems development. Prior to Institutional Life, Matt provided statistical quality control support for Babcock & Wilcox (NYSE: BWXT), a leading national defense contractor. Matt is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). Matt holds a B.S. degree in Statistics from Virginia Tech and a M.A. degree in Economics from New York University.

Dwayman Young, Senior Director of Servicing

Operations Management with 13 years of life settlement experience

Dwayman’s expertise encompasses life settlement servicing and asset analysis.  Prior to Institutional Life, he was a Pricing Analyst and Asset Servicing Manager for Structured Life Group, LLC, a life settlement provider.  He then worked as the Servicing Manager at Track-Life, LLC, servicing life settlement assets for multiple institutional investors. Dwayman holds a B.B.A in Decision Science from Georgia State University.
